And only reason putting it on monitor is bad is that it'll either fade from the heat, or if they sell the monitor they will loose the COA? I have no idea

Wow that sucks, if they get rid of the monitor what will they do? Its impossible to write down the key on another piece of paper, they are doomed!!!!
 
Who actually has one of those anyway? Those are for corporate offices and stuff. Home users don't actually have legal copies! 😛

My monitor and case outlast everything else in my computer by several iterations.

In the past 10 years I've had 3 monitors and 3 cases that have run with oh, 10 motherboard/cpu/video card combos.

There are quite a few times when I wished I had just told people, I have no idea what is wrong, they make computers with color screens now ?

Damn annoying when they make you their own personal tech support.
