I know of Commerce and Amica. There weren't that many until recently because of the regulations on insurance. Progressive definitely wasn't here a few years ago.

As soon as other companies were allowed to compete in MA, the premiums dropped significantly. I can now get insurance for easily 1/2 of what I would have initially paid.

I used to have Amica and Met....neither dropped their rates much when we got competition. I switched to Progressive and saved a good 50% or more.

Really? My insurance went up...and I even moved from Boston to Natick too...it still went up. I used to pay $120 a month....now it's $152. I have no accidents for the last 4 years and I was ticketless until last week.

My aunts works for liberty mutual. She told me that i may have to threaten to switch...which is what i am doing now. Progressive's quote is around 60% less than what I am paying now. I have been warned that progressive will jack up that quote in 6 months, when I have to renew. if that is the case, I will just go else where.
