People are already camping out to buy the new iPhone?

As long as these idiots keep doing this my stock portfolio and retirement will keep yielding great returns. Keep up the great work.

Guy who fixed my gf's phone said he makes easy money just buying the new phones on release and then immediately sells them cl for $100 profit and they go in 1 day. What's the limit on buying them, can I walk in and buy 10? Seems like an easy way to make 1k.

He probably makes more than $100 per phone flipped, however, that's a lot of money to put up front and hassle to find buyers and do the transaction. And as others have said, stores limit you to 1 per person/account now.

Morons.

They don't care about specs or the technology. They're like those vapid individuals who camp out for a new purse or pair of sneakers. Automatons programmed by marketing.

Amazing how many people don't bother to read threads before posting. Although now that I think about it, I guess it should be expected.

Those aren't regular people in line for a phone, they're paid for shills promoting products and services.

n/m, too much hassle

Um, I know what I already posted. Look at the 7 posts above my most recent one. They all came after those posts explaining that those aren't real consumers, but they thought those were real people just waiting for iPhones, so I made the comment about people not reading the thread...

I still have a normal cell phone, not a smart phone. I was in class the other day and someone handed me their Iphone to add my contact info. Sadly, I was unable to figure out how to do so and handed it back to them after about a minute (very awkward). That interface was anything but intutitive, the keyboard kept changing around to smilies and then the contacts list disappeared and I couldn't find it again. Although I should say, I get lost on android phones too.

It's even funnier to me because I'm working doing physical IC design for a company who designs smartphone chips, and I don't have one and can't use one. :|

Well of course it will take a little time to get used to a new interface, that goes with anything. You sound like you purposely won't learn how to use or get a smartphone just so you can be "different" from the rest.

so iPhail 6 is already released? or officially announced?

There is an official Apple announcement event on Sept 9th. They didn't specifically or explicitly say it is to announce iP6, but sources all point to it. There could also be other surprise announcements, who knows, but iP6 is like nearly certain to be announced. If it doesn't, then my stock/options for AAPL will be plummeting 😀

more lines.

So let me get this straight, its not yet announced, and announcement never coincides with release, they are generally weeks or months away, so how long will these dimwits wait in line?

I never understood how people are willing to buy a brand new device off ebay at a premium. Is it that hard to wait a couple weeks till they come in stock again? People are stupid.

When I heard about the Nexus 4 I really wanted one as I liked the idea of paying <$400 for a phone that I own out right and don't need to have a contract or data plan for, but they sold out within about 5 minutes. Guessing it was the same thing, people were selling them on ebay. While I was kind of mad I could not get it, I waited a couple months and they were in stock again. That was quite the upgrade from my Blackberry Pearl I'll tell you that. 😛 These people that go crazy over a phone and even willing to pay a premium on ebay already have a similar model.

Maybe if people lined up to vote or protest their government abusing them we wouldnt have all the problems we do in America.

But thats none of my business.

Also it's something you can do only once a year. And you still have to wait in line.

The problem with flipping an iPhone is that Apple won't let you buy fully unlocked no contract version til couple months after the release. So you can't buy 7 or 10 or even 100 iphones at launch unless you're willing to sign contracts for all the lines. So the person who said they bought seven iPhones at launch to flip is full of BS unless that person signed or renewed 2yr contracts on all seven lines. You can't buy what Apple won't sell. Which was the last iPhone that was available for purchase unlocked/no contract at launch? iPhone 5/5S wasn't available for purchase unlocked/no contract til like 3 months after the launch.
