Steltek pretty much hit it right on the head - what resolution do you run for gaming?
If <1080p the 7770 is likely adequate and more CPU will help more.
If =1080p you are going to be more GPU bound so go for the 7850.
If >1080p you need a bigger budget.
As an aside, you could also consider that you are looking at two different scenarios: option 1 will have you GPU bound while option 2 will have you CPU bound. To remedy whichever of these you end up with will entail an upgrade in the future, either CPU or GPU. Now, let's consider upgrades: if you go for an i3/7770 today, you're going to be looking at upgrading the 7770 in the future. Even after that upgrade you are still going to be stuck with an i3 processor (dual core, HT aside). If you go for the Pentium/7850 today, you can upgrade the CPU to an i5 later, at which point you will have a pretty balanced system for gaming.
