I've been in the market for a new laptop for the past few months now, and all I've been doing is mulling over my processor choice. I've heard a lot of hype as of late from coworkers, and friends about the Pentium M chips. They are at 2.0 Ghz with 2mb on die cache, however I've been told that this is comparable to a Pentium 4 system, and much higher speed. Is this true, what is all the hype behind the Pentium M chip? I decided to post this in the general hardware forum, as opposed to the notebook forum, because I'm interested in specific with the processor itself.
