Though it looks like Apple will do either adopt the new IBM 970 chip or go out of the computer business altogether. Shoot the most likely scenerio is that they adopt the new IBM chip and it is still plagued with scalibility problems so they go out of business. With 2 percent share Apple better start doing some stuff right.
where do you get this crap? a 64 Bit version of OS X is coming: it's called Panther and it will run on a PPC 970. Apple has no intentions of running windows software. if Mac users wanted to run windows software they would get a PC. Apple will gain marketshare again by bringing out technically superior systems. they are part of the way there and the 970 will help them get the rest of the way there. people have been claiming that Apple was going to go under for a decade. they are a profitable company. profitable companies don't generally go out of business. Apple has a 5-8% market share in this country, and it is higher than that in Europe and Asia. until fairly recently, Apple had the highest marketshare of any single computer manufacturer in the US. do some research next time.
