rig is in my sig...its all set up, runs fast (at least than my current 2.4C @ 2.9Ghz), blah blah. problem is, i thought i had bought this mobo so i can overclock really high (says AT and other sites).
now i know how to OC fairly well, but this pci-e, northbridge/southbridge, peg link and all this new crap that is available to tweak confuses me. the manual doesnt help much either.
ive managed to get 220fsb with no changes to voltages or anything in the bios. only thing that is set manually are the ram timings (4-4-4-12) and the ram ratio (DDR2-800 because my ram is rated at that). as i increase the fsb, i notice that the DDR2-800 will go back down to DDR2-667 and clock back up as i put more fsb into it. so i tried 235fsb, and no luck. it'll go into windows, then reboot on me.
gah...i wish this OCing would be back to the easier days. increase memory and cpu voltage if needed, pump up fsb, and use a divider if necessary.
any ideas? i have the 1st revision 930...i thought i was getting a decent chip for overclocking. guess not...
thanks a lot for your help!
