Pentium D 2.8Ghz vs Macbook Core Duo 2.0Ghz

How do these compare? I do websites and graphics (logos, photo restoration).

Pentium D 2.8Ghz
3GB Ram


Macbook Core Duo 2.0Ghz
2GB Ram

I cant find any websites that will let me compare these two processors. Toms will only let Desktop Vs Desktop, Laptop Vs Laptop.

I'm not sure how you'd go about comparing a PC to a Mac (bit of an apples and oranges comparison)..

but at a guess I'd say the Core Duo 2.0Ghz would be slight ahead on the Pentium D...

Although the Core Duo isn't 64-bit either.. depends on what you want it for really..??

So, compare the 2.8 Ghz Pentium D to the E6300. BTW, the Core Duo is gonna kill the Pentium D.

A 1.86GHz/2MB L2 C2D E6300 handily outperforms a 3.4GHz/2x2MB L2 Pentium-D 945, including Photoshop in this review:

The only time the Pentium-D might outperform the C2D is if the task is heavily HD limited.

Well the OP says Core Duo, not Core 2 Duo, and the Core Duo isn't as fast as the C2D.
Not sure if that was a type or not, but it will be a lot closer if it's PD vs Core Duo.
