Pentium 5?

Ek besoek wanneer die nuwe Intel Pentium 5 kom op die winkel, en wat sal die Ghz op die chip weet?

Dankie, julle is die beste. Choof.

Ek sal julle praat later,

tootsiens.

you'll get more responses if you rephrase that in English. the pentium V is not even on the horizon, as the Pentium IV has at least a couple years left in it. my guess is that the Pentium V will be a 64 bit chip based on the mckinley successor, but i might be totally off the mark. nobody except intel has any idea what the Pentium V wil be. hope that answered your question.

by the way, is that Dutch, or is it a dialect of German? whatever it is, it is close enough to the German i learned for me to understand what you said. i think.

Je m'excuse mais je ne comprens pas.

I think the prescott will be a pentium 5 brand. If so P V looks like nothing more than a souped up p IV and rather uninteresting when compared to Hammer.

where did you get the idea that Prescott will be branded PV? it's just a pentium IV core revision. but then again, the Katmai got Pentium III branding despite the fact that it was just a slightly souped up P2.

well, it's supposed to scale to 10 gHz. if intel goes with that plan, then i think it will take a couple years.

Yeah if the Pentium 5 is coming out soon then it most definately the prescott. The only other processor architechiture Intel has been showing off is the banias. No white papers on some new pentium processor from Intel! I am just following history! Intel loves marketing and branding the prescott the Pentium 5 is a likely move from Intel. Im willing to bet that Intel is doing this to steal some of AMD's hammer thunder. I am not to sure how advanced Intel's 90 nanometer process is but any snag can spell certain market share gains by AMD.

The Pentium 5 probably won't be out for at least another 2 years. That is only a guess. However, I'm sure there will be revisions of the P4 core in the meantime.

I have no doubt that Intel will call Prescott the Pentium V.
Its just like them. They will do it so it can bend peoples minds
to think it will better compete with Hammer. They did it
with the Pentium III, they will do it with Prescott. Come to think
of it, the Pentium II was almost the same as the Pentium Pro except
it was packed in a cartridge to hold the extra L2 cache.......

"Pentium 5" = "Department of Redundancy Department" 😕

If they ever come to that, it's way past time to ditch the 'Pentium' moniker.
