From Aceshardware.com: "The Pentium IV is NOT intel's last 32 bit x86 CPU!. Intel feels that 32-bit x86 will continue to dominate the desktop market for several years. Contrary to what Intel reported a few years ago, IA-64 CPU's will not enter the desktop market in the next years. So don't count the Pentium V out yet... "

That was a claim that a Intel employee stated... pretty wild no? Could Intel finally be taking AMD serious?...

Ok, Celeron, Pentium, Itanium, Xeon, K5, K6, K6-2, K6-3, Athlon, Duron.

Who were the ad wizards who came up with those?

I remember seeing a post somewhere on this forum pointing to some news site somewhere (Helpfull that statement int it 🙂) mentioning that the P4 would only be about for abot 4 - 6 months before it was superseeded by the P5.

😉

I thought that the Willamette was suppose to be suceeded by a souped up willy w/ a new socket/slot(?) design and that is why mobo manufactureres didnt want to supported. They predicted the lifespan of the first willy around 4-6 months... so far i havent heard anything about a p5 and/or about its specs... could it be slower than a p4 clock/clock? =P...

lol zippy, that snl was funny as hoof!

After p3 I stopped being surprised by intel's naming strategy. I thought the Katmai was a sweet name but alas it was dubbed p3.
