Pentium 4 question

What is the decoder width of the P4? The Athlon series has a 3-issue decoder capable of putting out 3 macroops per clock.

And I think its 1 x86 instruction decoded per cycle - not 1 macroop per cycle.

I've heard of the P4 as having a single issue decoder which doesn't make sense with all the execution units available.

The P4 has one x86 decoder, but also uses its Trace Cache to issue instructions.
I believe the P4 is capable of issuing 3 instructions per clock, but very rarely achieves that.
