I buy a box p4 2.66gh today to replace my (old) p4 2.53.

I had bad luck with my previous cpu, because I can't overclock it stable beyond 2.8 gh :disgust:

My board is a Gygabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra 2 (845PE).

I want to know if someone has this cpu and how high can be clocked.

Later I'll try this new baby and post some results.
My Vid card is a Shappire 9500 npro 128 mb soft moded to 9700.

I'm hopping to reach 166 mhz FBS to get 3.3 gb

My friend Mark has a 2.66GHz Pentium 4 (533MHz bus) and he can overclock to 3.78GHz (20x189 fsb) using just 1.65 volts with Intel's stock CPU cooler! WOW! You're gonna have some fun tonight! I guess, eh?!?:)

First impressions.

Change the cpu, stock voltage (1.525V).
2.660Mhz just to test if it all is fine.

Reboot and FSB 150 Mhz.
Boot at 3.000 Mhz, stock voltage, everything works.
Test Sandra and the values are the normal for a p4 3.06ghz.

Reboot and FSB 160 Mhz
Boot at 3200 Mhz, stock voltage. boot normally to windows. Reboot as I run the CPU test in Sandra.
This was done with stock cooling.

I didn't had time to test anymore.
I hope I can at least do 3.2 stable :)

At nigth I will push it to limits.

How high can I up voltage?? 1.65 isn't to much??
I'm a little afraid to fry it. 190 euros isn't exactly cheap :)

After some more tests...
With stock cooling I can't really go behind 3180 Mhz (60º and up celsius degrees in 100% cpu usage).
Replace the Cooler with a coolermaster (don't know model) and I can lower +/- 10º.

Let the cpu burn in for a couple hours at 3100 Mhz (bus 155 mhz) at stock voltage.

So far I can push it stable to 3200 (bus 160 Mhz) with 1.6 volts.

Anything above that and start with random crashs :| Don't try yet with upper voltage.

Sandra CPU 8192 MIPS / 1855/4243 MFLOPS.

i had my old 2.66 i got up to 170fsb (3.4ghz) w/:
-Asus P4P800 D (MAM on)
-TT spark 7 HSF @4000rpm
-Vcore @ 1.65V
-DDR453 (3:4 ratio w/ PC3500)

2.66 P4 is a great chip, mebe a higher voltage and faster memory will allow urs to go even higher than mine!
