I am trying to decide whether to get 2.4 or 2.6 for my laptops. Currently only 2.4 is available at the moment. I have to wait for about a month for 2.6.

Is there any big different between 2.4 and 2.6? Both of them are P4M

thanks

have you considered the Pentium M or centrino processor / technology?

these things have 1 Meg L2 Cache which help them out A LOT!

i have a 1.4 ghz that is almost or the same speed as a 2.2 ghz pentium-4M

good stuff i tell ya....

hi, thanks for the reply. Currently I am using P4M 1.7 on my IBM A31p. I wish I could use Centrino but my laptop can't handle that. I just bought it last year so I don't really want to change the laptop.

I was thinking to use the desktop processor but not sure if this will fit on my laptop. So changing from 1.7 to 2.4 should give me a lot of more performance right?

otherwise, I don't want to upgrade it lol...
