I'm seeing all these posts mentioning the P4 1.6a, but I have no idea what the "a"
designates. Where does one get these "a" chips and how does one differentiate between
the standard and "a" chips? And, do they really overclock as well as everyone claims?

Thanks..

And the northwood is........?

Sorry, I've been out of the pc loop for about 6 months.

Also, if anyone can recommend the best p4 1.6a motherboard, i'd appreciate it.

The 1.6a Northwood P4 is a very good overclocker at an affordable price. You can get around 2.1-2.2Ghz out of these puppies!

Northwood is Intel's new P4 with 512k L2 cache and .13u.

For DDR rams you got lots of choice for motherboard.

For RDRAM, you sure get Asus P4t-e or Abit Th7II.
