Sounds interesting to say the least, but I wonder if most Motherboard's Bios will recognize it?

Even if it is, it's still the fastest available CPU for skt 478 not counting the 3.4 EE

True, but people have a thing for Northwoods. :D

I could swear that I read somewhere that Intel was going to keep supporting S478 for a while.

Still haven't recieved it yet. The reviews of that place saying they are slow, was very accurate, they still haven't shipped. It also seems to have dissapeared from their website..

They just sent me an e-mail. It seems it was 100% accurate to believe the chip didn't exist. Quote from the e-mail: "This E-Mail is to inform you, just recently we relized a grevious mistake on our website, in offering a P4 3.6Ghz CPU in the Socket 478 platform. We have found out that aperntly the 3.6 is in the new Socket 775 (Socket T) format known as the Intel P4 560."

They never even charged my credit card, so don't have to worry about that.

Even though it turned out to be lga775, $335 for a retail 3.6ghz is still a great price, lowest on pricewatch is $430 for an OEM chip. I just have no use for an lga775 chip.
