mikeh0gg posted this over at Phatwallet. Every other vender sells this camera for at least $100 more (even with the rebate). I've never heard of priceler.com. They have a Bizrate logo on their site, but I couldn't find them in their database. If anybody has heard of them, please relate your experience. I'd really like to get one of these for my brother. Ever since I got in on that Vivitar deal he's been itching for a camera.

+ $348
+ $ 20 s/h
- $100 Pentax rebate

The only thing giving me hope is that they seem to have a professional well-designed site. Nothing looks cheesy.

tempting but a little fishy. If I use AMEX Blue to order, AMEX will cover for whatever losses this might incur, correct?

Pentax? I guess this is good to take jungle and safari pictures with. Maybe I'll get a few good pictures of crocadiles and alligators. :)

while their alter ego remains blank [much like their contact info]
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2721.html

seems odd how they need a 2nd name, but nonetheless seems like a bait and switch scam judging from their previous name/ratings. they "sell" u the camera [camera only, probably grey market] and then they call u to "verify" the order and try to sell u the "delux kit" which containts... manual and stuff that should have been with the camera in the 1st place. and if u dont buy the "kit" they say the item is mysteriously OOS. and then they have ur credit card # already, and ur SOL. be sure not to use a debit card with them.

I have one and I love it.
The manual modes are nice, although the manual focus is kind of useless.
It's very small too, fits in the case of a Canon S110.

Not sure if this camera is that good. I'll recommend getting S30 from Canon instead. try getting it from Dell.com, I think you can probably get it for 405 shipped. But there's no doubt that the price is really attractive ... 268 for a 3-megapixel camera. You don't get those ard much. :)

Sure, the Canon S30 is a better camera, but it's normal size. This is a tiny pocketable camera and is in the same size league as the Canon S110/S200. It's better than the Canon tiny cameras since this has more MP's.

That's true though. I didn't really take the size into consideration. Originally I wanted to get a S200/300 myself because of the compact size. Makes it real smooth to carry ard. :)

I just ordered one of these from Priceler.com. I ordered from a sales rep at the number under contact info. Everything seemed kosher... the company was easy to get a hold of on telephone....they did not try a bait and switch....I think they may be legit (I used Amex Blue just in case). Said would ship within one week. Keepin' my fingers crossed...this is a good deal

Just called Priceler and asked a couple of questions about if it was USA and did it come with all the accessories. He said yes and then said they were out of stock. This place is affilliated with Bilibi.com which has bad ratings. I would watch out on this place.
