"State police are trying to find a Pennsylvania man who they say stole a hand-held video game system and accessories from the casket of a teen who had been killed in an SUV crash on Christmas Day.

State police are not willing to comment beyond a brief news release issued Wednesday.

In the release, police say 38-year-old Jody Lynn Bennett, of Mentcle, grabbed the items from the casket of 17-year-old Bradley McCombs during a viewing Monday night at a Montgomery Township funeral home, about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

The funeral home director and McCombs’ mother aren’t commenting. The suspect’s aunt, Dianna Bennett, says her family is friends with the McCombs and are mortified by the theft. She tells The Associated Press she hopes police catch Bennett soon."

Yeah, kind of silly to be buried with it. But the kid died on Christmas Day and maybe it was his Christmas gift that he wanted? I dunno. Grieving parents do weird things sometimes.

I read boy in the title and its actually a 17 year old teenager. a 17 year old who got buried with his gameboy in his hands....I rather die and have my dick in my hands tbh.

You can't steal from a dead person ... they no longer own anything.

You're actually stealing. When a person dies that property becomes the property of that persons estate, The distribution of which is set out in that persons will or by the law of the land.

Exactly. Might as well let it be put to use by someone else.

WTF kind of stupid response is that? Dead kid wasn't gonna use it, so it's fine to steal it

If that's the case, why bury people in clothes? Might as well let somebody use them going by your commentary.

The act of burying cherished gifts with a body is about as old as human civilization. When my cousin died at an early age, she was buried with her favorite teddy bear.

The economy is bad. Why would you make a purchase when you can just steal it from a dead person?!
