I did a search and found only one mention of their show Bullsh*t!

I enjoy watching it, and its amazing how much information they have that contradicts popular beliefs. I definitely want to pick up the DVD set of Season 1. They make learning fun :p

What do you guys think of their show?

Taken from their Showtime Site:

"Whether demonstrating how history's most perplexing magic acts are performed in their sell-out Las Vegas show and TV specials, or producing their own series that pulls the wool off the public's eyes, Penn & Teller's mission is to expose the truth to an otherwise desperate and gullible public.

They also call upon the scientific community for back-up. Penn & Teller have discovered that the evidence debunking bogus operatives exists in countless books, scientific papers and government-sponsored exposes - research that nobody else has presented to the public with such zeal, passion, and conviction."

Some subjects that have been covered are: Recycling, War on Drugs, PETA, Safety Hysteria, Bottled Water, Environmental Hysteria.

I love how they get to present their case without rebuttal.
And its QUITE obvious that they aren't the ones doing the actual interviews with their targets.
They just get to sit back and rant about them.

It's a great show. They've proven a political objectivity that is rare and hard to come by. They choose to shoot the air out of pet issues on both the left AND the right (extremes: Creationism and evironmentalism). They take a no-nonsense look at an issue and ridicule the hype.

"We'd have fewer victimless criminals glogging our prisons. The courts, police and lawyers would have time and money to deal with real crime. We would take out the huge black market profits from the bad guys... we would be able to ease some suffering, we could seriously reduce the transmission of HIV and hepatitis. We could control the quality and dosage so fewer people would get sick from contamination or overdose.

And remember who's telling you this. I have never taken a recreational drug, never. Not one hit, inhaled or not of a joint. Never even had a single sip of alcohol. But I'm sure not going to spend money or come to your door with a gun to stop you from getting stoned. It's your life, just stay the fvck out of my house. All of you, the potheads and the government."

Anyone see the episode on recycling?

The only waste recycling that does not waste money, energy and is not BAD for the environment is aluminum. It's the only material that does not require our tax money to subsidize recycling it.

Or to put it as they did: If you see bums picking it out of the trash, it's worth recycling.

I like BS... great show. As far as providing a chance for rebuttals, I don't think they leave much room for rebuttal on many of their shows. Example: After 3 feng shui experts rearrange a house completely differently, call it a "science", and completely (unknowingly) contradict each other, how could they possibly give a rebuttal? I think P&T demonstrated extremely well that many (they didn't prove all) of the people selling feng shui services are frauds just trying to take your money.

Ditto the bottled water.

And, the environmentalists signing petitions banning dihydrogen monoxide were hilarious. (dihydrogen monoxide is used heavily by the plastics and other chemical manufacturers - DHO is the MAIN component of acid rain.) DHO leads to erosion. DHO kills hundreds of people each year from inhalation. DHO causes more property loss than fires and earthquakes combined! And, the environmentalists therefore agree to ban its use. DHO = water.
