Penn. law bans strangers from touching pregnant bellies

This was always awkward when my wife was pregnant. Older women are especially bad with rubbing pregnant stomachs:

It's something almost every pregnant woman goes through -- someone touching her belly. Well, there'll be no more of that for strangers in one state.

It is now illegal in Pennsylvania to touch the belly of a pregnant woman without her permission.

It started with a case, where a man is facing harassment charges for doing just that.

Should it be a crime to touch a pregnant woman's stomach without her permission?

While I don't think it should be illegal, the unwelcome grope of a stranger does warrant harassment charges.

Dude, no means no.

Err, touching someone else without permission is called harassment, might be the sexual variety.

During my wife's pregnancies, anyone who wanted to asked first. It was never males, and it was almost always family.

It's a god damn shame we have to LEGISLATE common sense these days... in order to prevent frivolous litigation.

conversation I had with a guy at my old job (his wife was really, really pregnant)

Him: Why do people always run up and rub her belly and tell her congratulations? Why doesn't anyone run up and rub my balls and tell me good job?

Me: Meet me outside in 5 minutes.

ahahahaha

I've never seen a guy do it. It's usually middle-aged and older women. The article says he's facing harassment charges so I wonder if it really is a new law or if they're fluffing up the story.

It would be interesting to know the details of the interaction. I doubt it was the typical
*touch*
"don't do that"
"oh ok"

Tradition has been that it can bring the person luck. The pregnant mother is lucky to have a baby; spread the joy.

I liked pregnant sex. I was like, "Come here woman. I'll make you more pregnant". One neat trick is to let her belly stick out of her shirt, and coat her stomach in a thick white lotion. Then people touch and goo then never touch again.
