Why does everyone always jump to the conclusion that people are responsible? Species have lived and died out for millions of years without people around to take away all their food. Maybe there was a sudden population explosion for some reason years back and now things are starting to balance back out again.

It is sad. Penguins don't vote, and the policies tend to get very unbalanced, as in this case where a very slight reduction in fishing is needed.

We hate ourselves and as a result we will insure that everything dies including us. We will either awaken or die. We prefer death.

They had a feature on NPR about this, which came to the conclusion that they couldn't really tell why these penguins were dying off. Just one breed-the rockhoppers-is declining so drastically, the other two or three penguin species in the Falklands have stable populations.

I love your optimism! You should be an inspirational speaker for depressed people.
