Pen type text scanner?

Hi

When I was in school, a guy had this scanner that looked like a pen, and he could scan lines of text using it like a highliter - I couldn't find anything on newegg (may have missed it)

Anyone know what it is called or have any experiences with something like that?

Thx

I have the cPen 800C.
I bought it for my daughter when she went to college and misplaced it. I recently found it... I have played around with it a bit, and think it is really cool. I cannot forsee a time when I would ever use it, but it is quite a dandy little toy!

🙂

so far thats 2 people who have one, but never use it....
Any particular reason?

I'll take it off your hands for $5 🙂

I picked up one for a client a few years back. Same story. Never used it.

The reason? Well, when I played with it, the accuracy left a lot to be desired. Unless you had nearly perfect copy to scan from, it would totally butcher the text. Typing was quicker than scanning, importing, and correcting.

Was it notes or text from a book?

I was hoping to use this in regular ol' textbooks......
