"NOTE: As with ANY peltier cooling device, DO NOT use idle/suspend programs like Rain, CPUIdle or Waterfall, as these will allow the CPU to get too cold and condensation could occur. You also need to disable suspend mode in Windows and your BIOS and also disable ACPI in your BIOS as well, so that your CPU will NOT be put in to idle mode. If you are unable to disable power management or ACPI, then you need to use Motherboard Monitor (available on my download page along with complete instructions), with CPU Heat-up enabled."

Okay, I want to run a peltier setup, but reading this on a webpage made me doubt using the setup. I am running Windows 2000, and it has the idle feature build in. So, I would have to always have my CPU doing stuff? Wow, peltier is something no something to be taken lightly into.

Simple solution, run RC5 for Team Anandtech 24/7 so your cpu is never idle! :)

And yes peltiers are not simple to use, but the real difficulty is when trying to cool to sub zero temps. Otherwise good insulation and some silica packets can work quite well.

Don't worry about it, you shouldn't get any condensation problems. And just run RC5 if you wanna help out Team Anandtech, or if thats no good run Motherboard Monitor and turn on the cpu heat-up feature. With that turned on anytime your cpu gets too cold it will heat it up a little bit, works great for me and my peltier setup.

edit: well shiiiiiit looks like that guy tells you to use the MBM program himself if you can't disable ACPI. I bought my peltier from that guy, they work good, well insulated, have had absolutely no problems with condensation. Just make sure your case is well ventilated, peltiers cool real good on one side but on the other they get very very hot. Got to get that heat out of your case.
