Still looking at installing a bare peltier I bought a long time ago...I've read the tutorials a thousand times, but I want more info - could someone perhaps e-mail or post the instructions that are included with the various bare peltier kits? Such as the Leufken Alpha kits found at 2cooltek (which included instructions)?

Thank you - one thing I was still a little clueless about was how the two gasket pieces fit in. Unless you see someone do it, this isn't exactly easy installation.

I'm using a cold plate, 72w peltier, with gaskets on an Alpha PEP66, Celeron and slotket. How do I sandwich all of this together?? Some have said they can actually get everything under the retention clip, but seeing the clearance, it seems impossible to me. So how else can I keep it all together, but still get it apart later?

Also - never seen petroleum jelly as a filler. Does that work?

The problem I suppose, is that I dont want to ruin all of my parts (i.e., I refuse to go gluing stuff together), especially considering the expense for the PEP66, which I know I'll use for most if not all future CPUs. I want see a way in which I will be able to get it all apart in case it doesn't perform well.

Just popped by to see how y'all doin'!

What you could do is to appli a thin, and even layer of thermal paste on one side of the coldplate. Press this side up against the cold side of the TEC(peltier) and apply a dab of superglue on each corner in the joint between the TEC and coldplate.

Apply a thin and even layer on the hot side of the tec and press it up against the heatsink. Dry off all remains of thermal paste along the side of the TEC/heatsink and add a few dabs of superglue on each corner of the TEC so that it's firmly attached to the heatsink.

Now it's ready to mount on the CPU, and all you gotta do is to use some foam to insulate against condensation.

Again, my only concern is the ability to get it all apart if it doesn't work. What kind of super glue do you use? Will I be able to seperate everything, just in case I dont want the peltier setup any more?

My biggest (and only) problem left is understanding how you guys can get all of this (pelt and coldplate) in between the heatsink and the CPU slotket, using only the retention clip - clearly, this just isn't possible (without crushing the celeron). Are you using super glue between the pelt and CPU also? If so, will I be able to seperate them afterwards?

Just making double sure. I think I might set this up this weekend along with some case modding.

Still just need instructions as to how to get the PEP66+pelt+coldplate on the CPU, as the Alpha retention clip clearly can't stretch that far. I need to do this in a way that I can get it apart later.
 
the way I see it if you dont glue it together you wont get it to work. if you put 4 drops of superglue im 100% sure you can seperate the 2 parts by freezing/heating it and prying the 2 parts appart with a knife.
