She's good at what she does. She's not a senator, she's a House Rep. whose district is San Francisco. It's true S.F. could come up with someone very talented, however would they have Nancy's power and sway? It's nothing compared to the host of incompetent senators.

This. And since she is no longer part of the House leadership whether or not she runs is an issue only to the people in her Congressional district.

For some reason I thought she had resigned.
As thump553 said, if the people of SF think she's doing the job, they can keep her there till she's fossilized.

She hinted she may not run again, I believe her Husband had a health issue. I assume he is better given his age.

If San Francisco wants her I'm fine with that. She represents a very small part of California.
She wont be part of leadership anymore.

I’ll think she’ll go down as one of the best speakers of the house in history but I really wish the democrats would get some new blood. Is there anyone even close to pelosi with her level of institutional knowledge?

Are you giving the Dems zero chance to win the House? If they win she won't be speaker, but she'd definitely be in a leadership position.

She already said she would step down from leadership.

Yes, I mean like she would be in a leadership position, from behind the scenes, but pretty powerful.

Not saying that is bad or good, but she'll be a noticeable influence.

I used to think term limits. But it's really age. After 65 get the fuck out. Mentor your successor and get your leadership shored up. Know on a calendar the last time you are walking out that door. Build your legacy and then hand over the keys.

I'm so fucking over dinosaurs still shuffling down the halls of Capitol Hill.

Mandatory retirement for all elected officials tied to the age of full social security benefits + remaining years of term.

Just gotta say that continuing to serve in Congress after that violent MAGA attacked her husband (and MAGA fake news added insult to injury by maliciously and knowingly defaming him over the incident) speaks volumes to her character and courage.

How could there be? Institutional knowledge a product of hands on experience.

One would think that all of the people here who exhibit generational hatred of the older among us are all of an age where just moments ago Mommy was wiping snot from their chins, but perhaps it is more a result of lack of character and breedin attendant to the general collapse of civility among the American people and its replacement by infantile American exceptionalism. These days everybody gets a voice whereas in the past it was necessary to have attained certain accouterments associated reflective of cultural development before the noises coming from one’s mouth got to register anywhere.

I've got a pile of bamboo in my back yard that's going to die in the next few years. It's a monocarpic species. It flowers once and dies.

Others in the world are flowering. Mines going to die. It's just a matter of when. I can accept that and start to replant something and get new growth started.

Or I can fight it, hope it's not true. Have it die and then start over taking even longer to get the shade and cover I want.

I don't like to accept that all that work and money I put into the bamboo is for naught. But there's nothing I can do to change it.

We all die. Plan for it and leave shade for the next generation.

No offense, but it's not funny. Your Q relatives are brainwashed sheep who will believe and say anything, regardless of how evil, because their only truth is their fear of ostracism.

I hate her and Clyburn for pushing right wing Henry Cuellar across the finish line when we had a great candidate in Jessica Cisneros who lost the primary runoff in my district (TX-28) by fucking 289 votes thanks to those two ghouls endorsing and campaigning for Cuellar. Cuellar is a stooge for business, is anti abortion, always protects the gun instead of the people when mass shootings happen, just a total shitbag. But Pelosi couldn't stomach the chance of someone moderately to the left winning my district so helped Cueller with robocalls during the runoff. She can't die soon enough, fuck her.
