eek, hit enter too quickly.

Make about 20k a year, single, no house / rent, and going less than half (1 class a semester - online courses through the school I will eventually relocate to once I get out of my present job). No dependents, and no one to claim me on their taxs, I'm a loner.

You aren't rich? Nothing! This is Bush's America!

Nope, and I'm only 20. I have many years to grow my wealth, or just to take it when my father dies. Whichever one happens first. kthxsbye.

Maybe ~$800 or so?

It depends on the price of the school as well...

If I'm not mistaken there are very strong restrictions on whether you can claim yourself as "independent" on the FAFSA. It's not the same as the status on your tax return.

Do specify. . . since I am in the military, and no longer am attached to my parents in any way shape or form, please enlighten me. ty

thanks, about the same as what I heard from people at work today, anyone else?

1 class a semester? Probably not a lot especially if you're working as well w/o a large financial burden, dependents etc.

All I really care about is getting just enough to cover the costs of books, and any additional expenses the distance learning classes will require. The AF is rather generous with tuition assistence, but books, extra stuff, they dont care much about, hence I am applying through FAFSA for some pell grants. I've heard, granted heard, of individuals taking 1 class a semester, online, and getting around $500 worth. Just thought I would check the general consensus at ATOT as well.

I'm almost positive if you are in the military you are considered independent.
