Per Major Nelson's podcast, Peggle is finally hitting Xbox Live this Wednesday along with Square Enix's tower defense game, Crystal Defenders.

2 player local multiplayer + 4 player online multiplayer for Peggle.

I am a sucker for both Final Fantasy and tower defense games, but for $10, I'll hold off a bit.

Peggle... oh, that's going to be harder.

What is Peggle?
Weird cross between pachinko and break-out... with bouncier physics.

And a very Japanese-ish overtone.

EXTREME FEVER!!!!!

If you happen to have The Orange Box it comes with a Half-Life themed version of it.
Very fun to kill some extra time.

IIRC, that version of Peggle is free for everyone now.

seriously, when is Galactrix coming out? It better make it out before the Pearl Jam Ten content download for Rockband makes it out.

Galactrix is going to be part of MS's Days of Arcade which starts next week. So, expect Galactrix in the next 6 weeks.

FINALLY!!!! I've been waiting for this for what seems like forever. My nephew got my addicted to this damn game when he came to visit and got my parents to install it. Every time I go over to my parents house I play the damn thing.

Actually, MSPR for FF tower defense is more than $10. (It was showing 1000 ms pts)

Looks good though I may get it.

Probably will get both.

Will these games come out for PS3 also?

Yes, PopCap signed a deal a while back to bring Bejeweled 2, Peggle, and a couple other games to PSN. No release date is known however. Same with Crystal Defenders.

Peggle will also be coming out as part of the Popcap Arcade Vol 2 disc at the end of the month along with Feeding Frenzy 2 and Heavy Weapon for $20.

Stupid question, but do you have to have the disc in the drive to play?

Not sure about Peggle but Bejeweled 2 is most certainly on the PSN store as well as Zuma and possibly other games, Peggle will definitely get a PSN release.

IGN gave a 9.0 Peggle on XBLA. Not a shock, it's a game that lends itself well to a gamepad.

No reviews yet of Crystal Defenders. IGN gave it a 7 on mobile, but their criticisms were very specific to that platform, so it could very well be an 8 for the 360. We'll see.

I'm finding this version of peggle to be quite a bit more difficult than the PC one. The arrow extends only so far from your ummm...ball cannon, that its difficult to line up shots that the arrow cant reach. On the PC you knew where it would land cause it always went straight to your mouse pointer, but you dont have that luxury here.

5.5 from IGN.

I bought the game before I saw the review and while I thought they SE could have easily polished the game up some, it's still a fun/addicting game.
