Wright is gonna have a breakout season.

Which Wright are you talking about??

David Wright who looks like the real deal.... or Jaret Wright the pitcher who was overpaid and has injury problems??

The Red Sox would be stupid to trade Arroyo. He showed some guts in the playoffs and is becoming a fan favorite in Boston. He's also young and knowing Wells' injury prone history and Pavano going to the Yanks they may need Arroyo in a big way.

I think it was Curt Shilling who called Arroyo "Saturn Nuts" cause ...well... he has balls the size of saturn...um yea.

ok..so thats not really too bad and I could see Pedro feasting on the weaker DH-less National League. Unfortunately, the Mets have NO power and very poor offense. oh well...

No power, poor offense... don't forget that bad defense, too!

how could i forget... :disgust: (visions of Matsui throwing to the 1st row seats, Piazza throwing to Cameron instead of the second basemen and both Cameron and Floyd losing the ball in the sun... just stop it.. please...)

don't forget how this horrible team defeated your Yankees how many games last season ? I'm still laughing and scratching my head at that one.

<-- wonders which excuse you're going to pull out of your rear ...

Wow, just wow. Pedro for sale...Pedro for sale.....

Oh well....We are not getting Pavano, I doubt we are getting Hudson....it looks like we are not getting Renteria.....they scorched Nomar....They want to trade Ramerez (sp?)...What DO the red sox actually want?

Those were 3 great games at Shea last season. The Mets were scrappy and fun to watch. They committed no errors, showed homerun power and clutch hitting. Guess that series was their world series cause the season was pretty much wrapped up after that. 🙁

Why are you laughing and scratching your head at a regular season series? Why are you STILL laughing and scratching your head? You are the only person on Earth even thinking about the subway series now in December.

That was pretty weak. So do you know or are you just not going to admit it ?

I'm bringing this up because you are railing on the Mets (which is generally fine) but you seem to enjoy it. And I enjoy doing this.

Give it up, Mets are garbage. Who cares how the Mets did against the Yankees in a few games?

I love it. I will give it up... just wanted to bring that to light for a few and ruffle some feathers. Poor Yankee fans need something to make them feel better after this year... go ahead and continue bashing.

This deal still isn't official and I won't believe it until the Mets announce it. Who knows what'll happen..maybe Pedro will just take the 3 year deal the BoSox offered just to stay in Boston. We'll see..

Exactly...

I thought the Sox had Renteria but so far guess not.

Baseball Talks End, Stars Still Seek Teams

Pedro Martinez picked the New York Mets over the Boston Red Sox, and the Chicago White Sox dealt Carlos Lee to Milwaukee for Scott Podsednik and a reliever on Monday as baseball's annual winter meetings finished with many top stars still searching for teams.

ahh man yanks vs sox won't be the same without Pedro and his little friend

Maybe not but remember the Mets play the Yankees for 6 games and I'm sure Pedro will pitch at least one of them...maybe in Yankee Stadium. It may not be quite the same but I'm sure Yankee fans will enjoy serenading him while he's wearing a Mets uniform just a much as they did when he wore a Boston uniform.

Not official, but looks like it unless Pedro is just using the Mets to milk the Red Sox a little more. The Globe was saying that Pedro had been asking the Sox for three years guaranteed and bonuses to match the Mets orginal offer, which the Sox finally conceded to this weekend. As soon as he got that offer, Pedro went right to the Mets to see if they would top that (which apparently they did). Then he asked the Sox again to match it- it pretty much looks like he's playing the two teams off each other. The question is, will Pedro's misplaced pride allow him to take the lesser deal to remain with a contender (since it looks like the Sox are standing pat), or does he now have to go to the Mets because they're the team that "showed it wanted him more". If he does go, look for the Sox to use that $40 to try to wrap up Renteria (rumor also has it the Sox are now going after Clement).

The question is, Mets fans, can Pedro's torn rotator cuff make it 4 years? How many starts does he make total?
