Hmmm, Whats the difference from selling this book and selling books like the bible... Corrupting ones mind is just moral wrong, offensive and outrageous.

I find it funny that a new channel is covering this. While I'm not going to buy any book about religion or the practice of becoming a pedophile, if these people don't like it, don't buy it. How hard is it? But to be honest the bible is no worse then this book. The only good thing about it would be it's under 5 bucks and requires no donations what so-ever! 😀

Where do we draw the line on free speech? Well, I can tell you where you can stick it!

I just find it offensive that they are so quick to sell out freedom of speech and so openly ready to try to take away another right of ours.

Actually. If i ever become a parent I may actually purchase this book. It's good to peak into that mind if you want to protect your children. I say make it available.

I find it incredible that you could make an argument for moral equivalency between this book and the Bible. But that's really the only reason you started this thread, isn't it?

I guess with Phokus posting again, he felt the need to step it up a bit to retain his douchebag cred.

Have you read the Bible? I'd say that this one is one step below because at least it doesn't instruct you to kill your children in the name of God.

OP don't forget the Quran.

But seriously the Bible at this point is still an important historical and literary document. Nice try though...

I think the bible is way worse then this book could ever amount too. So be it.... I started it because Fox News (your bible pimping channel) wants the right to tell you what you should and can't do with your life. They want to draw the line for you obviously.

As stated before I'm buying neither book... But if someone should want to buy the book to protect themselves or were just curious about it. Then I don't see much harm in it. I'm sure it's probably 90% full of things any common person with half a brain should know. Nothing new...

The point of the thread is ... Fox is trying to STOMP all over the first amendment and to get people to go along with them in giving it up. That alone is worse then this book. I just brought in the bible because it is also based on the first amendment like any other book.

I find it hilarious that some people are so scared of what FoxNews reports. No one is forcing you to watch or read what they report.

How is the Bible an important historical and ESPECIALLY literary document?

It's a collection of ancient storytelling, it has nothing to do with history, nothing about the Jews in the bible is true, nothing about noah, adam and eve, abraham, or anyone else is really true, it's a collection of stories.

In reality, the Jews never did anything in the bible, there is enough evidence from REAL documents and archeologial evidence to know that none of it is true, Jesus might have been real and might have had a handful of followers, there are modern preachers that have more during their lifetime...

I wonder if this method is described in the book

You better come up with a different excuse for buying that book, no one is gonna believe that you bought it to "protect yourself".

The OP uses any excuse that he can to bash Christianity.

So what?

If it was Islam you would agree with any bashing on it, don't pretend that you're the bigger man.

I agree with all bashing on all religions, religion is the bane of modern man and a threat to survival as it's detriment to reasearch in many ways.

Go suck on a i love you. 😉

Maybe you should try reading past the Old Testament. Ignorance isn't a good color on anyone.

Jesus said what? That he came to abolish the law?

You can go with the direct opposite interpretation where you get to pick and choose depending on what your sect is and what your priest/pastor/preacher says about it but in reality.

Jesus didn't come to abolish the Judaic law, did he?

You don't get to pick and choose, either you leave the old testament behind or you embrace it, it's Judaic law, ALL of it, you can't pick and choose which laws to follow, not in society and not in the bible either, it's all or nothing.

That said, i forgive you for your ignorance of your catholic beliefs, son, and it's not the first time either.

The extent of your understanding would be passable if you were still six years old. Instead, you pin on your ignorance like a medal and wear it for everyone to see. Your parents must be so proud!

-snip-

Seems a complicated theological question, one I've never really considered.

To be given only a choice between (1) abolishing, or superceding, ALL the laws of the Old Testament or (2) following ALL Old testament laws seems to ignore both the question of what Jesus meant when he said he came to "fullfill" the law and the question of how to interpret his rermarks that are in conflict with Old Testament laws. E.g., "let him without sin cast the first stone". I.e., how does one reconcile that last remark with Old Testament law requiring stonings?

Seems more complicated to me than either following all old testament laws or none.

I'm fine with bashing on all religion too. I'm just tired of the liberals that bash Christianity but defend islam. And I'm also tired of the liberals that bash Christianity but vote for a hard core Christian.

I'm an atheist... I could care less what religion you are as long as you don't try to constantly get your agenda in politics and news...oooops too late.
