It's illegal here too AFAIK, but you'd have to have some pretty bad karma to get caught/prosecuted...

Wardriving isn't an acronym, it comes from war-dialing and it isn't illegal. All wardriving is mapping out where a wireless signal is, and mapping it showing the increase usage of wireless networks.

What he did was connect to network and steal bandwidth.


SSP - MAC filtering isn't really enough, you can change a MAC on a network card. So all they need really is to listen and decode the wireless signal. There is a Mac, as in Apple, program that displays the pictures that are transmitted over the wireless signal.
 
Wow, that's great! One less person preying on our young people. Interesting way to catch someone though... The gov't spends millions trying to track these ppl down, and here some cop just stumbled onto him.

That's also quite revolting. I would police would just execute people with collections that large. I heard of a man in Toronto I think with a half million (innitial count) images on computers, pictures, negatives, slides, prints and even posters around his appartment. If I were a cop and saw that there's no way I could have resisted emptying half a clip into the guy's face.

There is no good reason (aside from physical relief for other prisoners) to keep ppl like that alive, IMO.
 
glad they caught this guy, and I hope he goes away forever but the story just fuels the argument that "Kazaa is for child porn"

funny how they made sure to point out where he was getting it from.

it's kinda like the media making sure that when there is a car accident and one of the vehicles involved is an SUV...they make sure to tell you it was an SUV. What does it matter?
