Pearl 2 is here! 8120

Pearl 2 on GSM/EDGE with WiFi.

Mines on a BES so if any of you have questions shoot them over.

One thing that I like is that when you are on a WiFi network you can drop the GSM connection and still get full BB service, so full email, BB messenger, etc.

Email interface is overhauled. If a contact emails you and they have a picture on the contact it appears in the mail header!

The Media player is the same type as the 8300 update, but now has playlists and the device can take mSD HC cards up to 32Gb.

Very nice update.

New 2Mp cam is pretty good for a phone. Here is a snap I took tonight in low light to capture the sunset.. I've seen 'proper' cameras take worse pics than than in low light.

Launch page, in Spainish. Spain is the launch country for the 8120.

Yep, it has a 3.5mm headphone connector. I'm using my Sennhieser CX300's with it on the train to clients to listen to tunes. If you copy your WM10 or whatever folders onto the memory card the album art is shown in the media player 'Now playing' and Album, browser screens.

I'm not going to be locked down with Sprint. If I ever happen to desire for one, I"ll most likely import the GSM variant.

EDGE devices are going to be on all GSM/EDGE carriers soon enough, AFAIK. Some get exclusive colours.

i have loved my pearl every single day for the year ive had it, and it thrills me how good the pearl two seems. yet i dont think ill be going with the pearl two this year- im thinking its time to go all-out and get the fully fledged wm5 smartphone. tough choice though.... blackberries are popular for a reason.

I like my 8820 but I want a camera even though i rarely use it. I heard there's gonna be an updated CUrve 2 also that has a full keyboard, camera, wifi.. is this true?

the pearl 2 is coming for sprint.........just loses the wi-fi and gets gps.

Curve already has Cam and GPS, the WiFi version will be out soon, too.

I love my pearl. Its to bad that I fell on it while riding my bike the other day and now the screen is broken.

Looks like I will be paying to get a new one.

Are you using BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3? Media Manager roxxorz my boxxorz!!! So easy to load up custom ringtones now.

Oh and I also have a Pearl 2, except mine has EVDO! Verizon 8130 FTW.

Nah, I'm using 4.2.18. I just transfer everything via windows explorer. I find it much quicker that way.

You don't have to have an MP3 in the ringtones dir anymore to set it as a custom ring tone for contacts.

I should get the GF to snag me a copy though.
