Peanuts - Do You Eat the Shell Too?

I love salted peanuts, and my whole life I've eaten them shell and all. Not eating the shell seems like such a waste of salt.

Some people saw me doing it and thought it was really wierd. Thoughts?

I usually try sucking on a few pistachio shells then give up. They just don't absorb salt in the same way as peanuts

Never heard of eating the shell. I buy shelled peanuts. I do sometimes roast and eat unshelled pumpkin seeds, but prefer shelled ones. Can't imagine doing it with peanuts. If I eat a peanut in a shell, I shell it first.
