Peanut butter - creamy or crunchy?

Smooth cashew butter. Better than almond butter or peanut butter, and with preserves makes a better sandwich than regular peanut butter and jelly.

EDIT: Slight preference for crunch peanut butter over smooth. I like both a lot, though... just not as much as cashew butter (which unfortunately is also more expensive 🙁)

Both. I chew peanuts til they're smooth, then spit them in a jar for later. That maximizes enjoyment, and minimizes cost.

There is seriously no reason for crunchy peanut butter to exist.

Crunchy for me, then smooth if there isn't Crunchy at the dollar store.

Creamy anything just sounds gross to me. My mom bought one that said "Extra Creamy"... I've been afraid to go near it for 2 months and no one else is eating it.

For use on toast...SKIPPY creamy.

For use in sammiches...either will do.

For use in PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES (my preferred way to eat peanut butter)...only Skippy Super Chunk.

You know, it doesn't matter. I used to make my own all the time, usually smooth. I could stop the blender at any point. The longer you let it go, the smoother it gets. It's still nothing but roasted peanuts and a little salt.

Creamy's my pick! :awe:

For these PB cookies, I used a whole jar of Planters' honey roasted peanuts and food processed 'til smooth.

Roasted peanuts and a little salt. That's all it needs to be.... except I'll take crunchy over smooth any day. And since I don't eat peanut butter cookies or anything other than with bread or a cracker, no reason exists for smooth.

So why do Skippy and others add crap to good peanut butter? Because they unnecessarily add crap to most food products.

Skippy Peanut Butter

Peanut butter is peanut butter….. right? WRONG !!
Here is a list of ingredients in Skippy’s ORIGINAL peanut butter direct from their website.
INGREDIENTS: ROASTED PEANUTS, SUGAR, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OILS (COTTONSEED, SOYBEAN AND RAPESEED) TO PREVENT SEPARATION, SALT

Here are the ingredients in their LOW FAT version:
INGREDIENTS: ROASTED PEANUTS, CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, SUGAR, SOY PROTEIN, SALT, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OILS (COTTONSEED, SOYBEAN AND RAPESEED) TO PREVENT SEPARATION, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES, MINERALS (MAGNESIUM OXIDE, ZINC OXIDE, FERRIC ORTHOPHOSPHATE, COPPER SULFATE), VITAMINS (NIACINAMIDE, PYRIDOXIDE HYDROCHLORIDE, FOLIC ADIC).

Sorry I diverge. Back to the crunchy versus smooth debate. I must be tired from the Brady versus Manning debate.

The crunchy kind where you can taste the roasted peanutty goodness, but I wouldn't kick creamy out of the bed. I am so glad I am not allergic to peanuts.

Creamy..

BTW try adding a bit of condensed milk with your peanut butter toast. Perfect blend of saltiness and sweetness.
