PDF printing issues

why do PDF files print 1 page at a time? I have tried several different printers, with different type of drivers (PS, PS3, PCL5, PCL6), but no matter what, adobe PDF files take forever to print.
a 4 page 2MB file spools sometimes 40-60MB of data to the printer, which i just dont understand. out pops a page, then 4 minutes later another one.

Does anyone have an explaination or solution?

My experience is just the opposite. Basically, no difference in print speed, but PDF is more reliable because things don't change to a different page. Check your printing setup/properties. What software are you using for printing PDFs?

generally acrobat 8.0 or 9.0

I've had this happen.

Was it working fine before or has it always done this for you?

When it happened for me it had worked fine up until that day, I ended up uninstalling the printer and then re-installing it and that seemed to clear it up.

I don't remember doing anything else... but it was a while ago.

When I was using Acrobat reader, I never printed with it. Always used my word processor with the PDF reader as a printer. Now I use Nitro PDF - a really good complete PDF program, better than Adobe.

i have had this problem since adobe reader 8, I dont remember having this problem on 7.05. I have it both on my pc at home and my pc at work. its every pdf file, on every laser printer.

i havent tried a different PDF software. but I will.
