I am thinking of buying a handsping prism and want to make a good investment. Want to make sure that i will use it. I am a supervisor at a Plant. Will this be a helpful product for to own. THX!!!!!!!!!!!

YES! Buy the handspring.
I've got a Palm IIIc and love it. I mainly use it for contact info.

Get the Vx its the most professional looking pda there is. Yes it is very helpful, it will keep your life in order.

I am a physician (no...not an ObGyn), and I would have a complete spasm if I left for the hospital without it now. I am completely dependent on it. I have all my notes, phone numbers, drug formularies, formulas, databases and quick references in it. When I am working that thing is out 10 times an hour (at least). I never ever thought I would find so much use for it. Of course, in a year or 2 they'll have 20x more memory, full color screens, streaming video, built in pager, TV, cell phone and MP3 player... If you are going to get one now I say go for a cheaper model...one with at least 8 mb memory though. The palm IIIxe can be had for about $150 these days. That should whet your appetite until the real killers come out next year.

It'll defintely help out. You'll be able to keep track of appointments, list of things to do, reminders, etc. Check out PDABuzz and Palmgear for reviews and all the useful applications that you can download.

I am useless w/out my PalmIIIxe, though the VII looks mighty nice (not sure what I would do with all its bells and whistles) But to answer your question, the Prism is a very nice pda. It should serve you well.

I'm dead w/o my iPAQ 🙂 When my dad's mobo crapped itself last week on spring break, the iPAQ was my only access to the Net and email.

if your gonna spend the money for the prism just get the handspring edge, that thing looks badass, I currently have a VDX and I love it however havent used it too much. good luck with what you get

I am more likely to leave home without my pants than I am without my PalmV, Had same one 18 months and couldn't function without it.

I DO I DO I DO!!!🙂 i just got my new ipaq yesterday for $430 w/ some extra stuff and i might say ITS WAY better than what i use to have (Nino 510 Wince 2.11) I was thinking of getting a palmIIIxe and then at same time i wanted one of those rio500...so i thought hmmm what can i buy that will have all in one feature...I KNOW IPAQ so i bought mine on Friday online w/ saturday delivery (costed me an arm and a leg but was worth it) and i woke up at 8am just for the UPS guy🙂 so when i recieved it, it had soo many goodies like a MP3 player and a NES Emulatr that played NES Games!!!! and damm the screen was way sharp than old wince device and Palm's.... It can be trully called a "Pocket pc" because it can do SOOOO many thing unlike palm. the intel strongARM is a powerful cpu. for instance i played my MP'3 while i write something using hand recoznition (does reconize my writing perfectly!) The screen is soo sharp and i am thinking of getting a 128mb CF card to put in my 2hr movies! (YES YOU CAN PUT MOVIES!) ALL-IN-ALL I give my Ipaq 5/5. this is where you should put your investment!! i sold my nino cuz the old wince sucked IMHO and had poor feature verses palm, the palm i used to like before i saw Ipaq!

I can't live without my Palm IIIc. I carried it in a case that doubles as a wallet, so I always have it with me. I suggest getting a cheap model, then upgrading if you like it.

Had the ipaq. Very nice PDA, looks cool, nice screen, lots of features. Didnt like the battery life though and the size. Didn't need most of the features either. Downgraded to a palm Vx. Love it! Small, doesnt need a charge for weeks, does everything I need.

Palm Vx strikes the balance between compactness, power and utility. I have almost all 8 Mb full, but never felt the urge to have much more mem. I download ANDANDTECH's Avantgo page and about 6 other newspapers. Have databases, adresses and all. Best of all is that you can get a leather-case that will take creditcard and stuff, thus giving you wallet-capacity and your PDA in one. Now, if they were to build one with a phone...

Just search for visor in the hotdeals forum. You can't beat $099-120~(tax or no tax) for a visor deluxe🙂($249reg) price really hard to beat this deal.. unless u really really need color or can afford to pay 4x more for smaller models. and remember.. color beats the crap out of batteries😛

got a Palm VII, it is good if you need constant info. otherwise don't spend the money for the wireless stuff. i mainly use it for address book, check book, and email. but then again it is cool to always check movie times, weather, email and how bad my portfolio is...🙁

I personally like the Palm series better. I think they look more professional and they tend to stick to the basic operations that one would like a PDA to do. I find many other company's models try to do TOO MUCH. The way it's going it seems like they want to make PDA's a mini-laptop. So, think about what you want to use it for, then it'll be easier to choose among them.

I use my Palm IIIxe more as a datebook/organizer. I also use it for some medical database programs. It's more than adequate for my use.

Today, Palm has just released news about a new model. I'm not endorsing it, but here are some links about it:
CNet news
Palm m500
Palm 505

And that is a PROBLEM???? Works great for me, and for only $50 more than a M505, the iPAQ a relative steal 😀
