Couldn't hurt. Just try to get a thin one about 0.3-0.5mm so your PDA screen can still pick up your strokes while preventing any scratches. The protector itself may get scruffed up a bit, but you'll have peace of mind that the actual screen is as good as the day you applied the protector.
I've got some of Matthew Price's screen protectors, which are GREAT. A Little hard to apply the first time, but once you get it, they are FAR superior to other protectors. I can't remember the link offhand, but if you go to Visorcentral.com and check the review index, they will be there. They're quite affordable too, at $11 for a year's supply.
