PDA Recommendations?

I'm looking for a PDA or a small Palm/Cassiopeia type computer that has Microsoft Excel or another similar full featured spreadsheet program (word processing would be a plus too).

Know of any good ones?

Thanks in advance!

DocumentsToGo software runs perfectly on my Palm M515 and it has very good compatibility with entire MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.... Full color, long battery life (over a week) and extemely light and portable.

Metroplex, any major PDA should have a program availible for it that does spreadsheets. None of them technically have Excel though; Pocket Excel is only a PocketPC thing. Take a look at Documents to Go(made by DataViz); I think it'll work just as well as you need it to.

PS This really should be in Software, not GH

Certainly. Any time I create the document in Excel or Word which I want to have on my Palm, I place that document in a special folder (\My Documents\Palm Docs). During any time I sync Palm with my Desktop, the newer version of document is updated on either desktop or handheld. This feature is customizable and I can set up either always update desktop >> Palm or other way around. As far as DocumentsToGo, here is the website for them: http://www.dataviz.com/products/documentstogo/index.html and this program is already included with Palm software package, so it doesn't cost you anything.

On the side note, I know there is at least 20+ other excellent programs which will synchronize your data with Excel. This site will have plenty of information and reviews: http://www.palmgear.com/.

Interesting!!

Is this easy to use?

About how much will it cost?

I found A palm M500 w/:

Address Book, Date Book, Clock, To Do List, Memo Pad, Note Pad, Mail, Calculator, DataViz Documents To Go 3.0, MGI PhotoSuite Mobile Edition, AvantGo, Pocket Mirror 3.0, Palm Reader, MultiMail SE, AOL

So with Documents to Go, I can pretty much have Excel in the palm of my hand (literally)?

Wait til Christmas when Dell,Viewsonic,Compaq/HP/Whateverthehelltheyarenow starts releasing lower cost versions of their pocketpc handhelds. Then you can use pocketexcel. They are supposed to retail for around $299 or maybe even less. You could also check ebay where there are new and like new older pocketpc's being sold for cheap. I'm waiting for HP to release the slimline IPAQ. supposed to be skinnier than my original 3635 from when tehy first came out.

By Christmas my need for a PDA will drop to almost nil (it'll come back again next semester but there's a 1 month period where the PDA will most likely gather dust).

I'm thinking about going for a Toshiba GENIO e550G or a e335 - about $400-600 but 300 MHz to 400 MHz with 64MB SDRAM and a 65k color screen.

The same price Palms are Black and white with 66 MHz processors.
