I was thinking of getting the m130. The cheapest palm that's in color. Are they any good at gaming? the specs are nice, of course better than the gba, but is it that there aren't much developers, or is the OS and system applications taking up too much ram and resources?

Thanks.

personally, i don't think PDAs, palm or pocketpc, are really all that great at any "active" games... they're great for turnbased games like chess or some other strategy... but they really suck at stuff like rts or fps. that's just my experience.

I have a Gameboy emulator on my Palm Vx. It can load and convert ROMs for use on the PDA, although to get decent performance I usually have to overclock it from 24 to about 28-30 MHz which drains the battery faster. However, my OC application is set to OC only for the emulator, so it defaults back to 24MHz when you switch applications. Legend of Zelda is pretty cool on the Palm Vx.

wait, is this a gba emulator or a gbc emulator? I doubt that a gba could run on 30mhz? It runs bad at 400mhz on my old pc. Maybe you have some palm optimized one.

Very addictive too. My top score is 64 million, without cheating. My and my buddy go back and forth, we've logged hours upon hours playing that game.

GBC. As a rash generalization, you tend to need around 10x the HP of the original system to emulate it.

The GBA is only 16MHz??? I thought it ran at about 150MHz. I do know that the original GB ran at a little over 4.1MHz.

As for the original question, if you want games get a GBA. I have a GBA and a Palm IIIc and the GBA is much better for gaming. There are some good games for the Palm but there are more for the GBA.
