PDA Advice?

I'm looking for a slick, nice PDA that I'll only be using for functional purposes (no mp3-playing or video-watching). What is or utmost important is that it has an excellent display, great storage, and is very intuitive and user-friendly.

Any suggestions, guys? Thanks ever so much.

Dell Axim X30, X50, X51 or HP iPaq.

I believe Dell is leaving the PDA hardware business to pursue smartphones.

I recently got the ipaq 6315, which is a PDA + SmartPhone and I am loving it so far

It doesn't have a fast processor to save battery life, which is fine with me. I can pop in a SD card for increased storage. Best of all, I only need to carry 1 device instead of a cell phone + PDA

I'm pretty sure a cheaper one is what i want to get, BUT usually cheap means flimsy. I want a killer-looking screen, and want it to be small and full-feautured with respect to appointkeeping, addressbook and the like.

What's do you all think of the Palm Z22?

I had mine for about 7 months then I dropped it and got the Sidekick II... stupid T-mobile. Now I have to wait till I cant get the latest and greatest from t-mobile. Blech.

Whatever you decide, get it now. The PDA market is just about dead in favor of the PDA/Phone market.

Which, BTW, PDA/Phones rock. I love my HTC Wizard (Qtek 9100) to death! The synergy between different data types is amazing! Phone numbers don't have to be formatted as anything special in e-mails or web pages - the phone underlines any number it sees that could be a phone number, and you can tap on it and dial it.

Second on the TX. If you want a solid PDA, go with PalmOS. MS WM3/WM5 may seem fun and games for the initial period, but that excitement wears off when you start using it more and more and ActiveSync begins to be flaky, the handheld starts crashing more and more, etc.

My last PDA was a Treo 600. And I am currently using a Palm TX.

What do you like & dislike about the tx? I am seriously thinking of getting one and adding a bluetooth gps reciever.

I have a Dell Axim x51v and I thought I would use it more than I actually do.

I really just needed something for contacts/calendar and this thing is overkill.

It has a true VGA screen and looks really slick however I don't use any of the fancy aspects of it. Watching video on my PDA sounded cool but is just too much work.

I haven't had any trouble with ActiveSync.

All in all, I think PDAs are going to be extinct in a few years in favor of more integrated devices. Carrying around a PDA, cell phone, laptop, mp3 player and digital camera is too much of a hassle.

Really?!? The age of the PDA is coming to an end.

It would be nice if the Dell Axim X30 with WiFi dropped to around $120 shipped, they'd sell like hotcakes. I haven't really kept track of the pricing, for all I know they could have reached that price already.

So far so good. The processor can feel sluggish at times but it's pretty nice.

My Qtek 9100 has been rock-solid stable for almost two months now. Maybe the device you used just plain sucks?

BTW, I'm using the MSFP for push e-mail, so in effect I'm always connected via ActiveSync to my Exchange server. It's not unstable at all.
