I received a shiny, new Sony Clié PDA for my birthday. It's great, but the screen is so nice, I wanted to put a "screen protector" on it. So, I dutifully went to Staples got something that looked decent, and, well, it sucks.

I got this Belkin kit which tells you to smooth out the little sheet of clear plastic you lay down on your display with a paper card they give you. Well guess what? The smoothing doesn't work too well, and, what's more, it scratches the cover A LOT. How lame is that? Ugh I'm going back to Staples to get my moolah back this stuff is junk!

What's more, I got a nice case for the PDA, or so I thought (also Belkin, IIRC). It claims to be designed for my model, HOWEVER, somehow whoever designed it forgot where the power switch is and that it has a headphone jack. It's a flip case, the idea being that you can flip open the case and use the PDA without taking it out of the case. Well... that doesn't work because the power switch is covered. Plus, what's the point of having a belt clip if the headphone jack is covered when the case is closed?

The sad thing is that there's no way to check this stuff before buying, because the things are sealed super-tight in packing which obscures any clear inspection of the product.
