hey guys im interested in playing FFX again and possibly giving FFXII a shot.

Has anyone tried using PCSX2? my system im sure is powerful enough but how is it compared to using PS2?

It says on the website that you can play FFX and FFXII but is it choppy at all?

i have a copy of FFX but am i better off using an .iso?

anything i should know about installing it or configuring it?

I never used it, but I would use the ISO file. You'll have better read times.

I've tried it before and I don't recall it being too bad, but I've never played a full game using it.

I thought most Ps2 games were not playable with it? Most games only load to the menu screen right? If it has improved I think I will download it again and start playing through some Ps2 games I always wanted to play.

This is what they say at the "emulator-zone.com" about pcsx2:

"World's first Playstation 2 emulator. This is the first PS2 emulator that slowly shows us that commercial games might soon be fully playable! As you might recognize from the name, it was developed by the team behind the PS One emulator PCSX.
It was developed by reverse engineering PS2 demos, which isn't an ideal source for developing an emulator. It simply is far from complete. But at least it's a start, so if you want to have a look, here it is. "

They make it seem like games aren't playable.

There are a few that are fully playable but needs a BEAST of a system. Mostly CPU bound as well....

Can you be more specific? I have a Core 2 Duo laptop with 128mb 8400M GS and 2GB ram. Will this be enough?

If I remember correctly, at one point they dramatically increased performance by enabling multi-core processing. I tried it once and I believe I received a 2x increase, but it's been awhile so it's probably a bit fuzzy :p.
