Gotta agree with you NFS4, all you did was state which board treated you good and it was in your opinion that the Abit boards were good from your experience. PCresources i believe just felt cornered from a number of different posters and got defensive.

It can happen to anyone :(

And that's all I was doing. I wasn't telling him to sell Abit boards, I wasn't even telling him to use them for himself. I was just saying that they worked for me. But after he called me ignorant I left the thread and didn't come back...it was then that the flames starting leaping from the fire.

The sad part is that most of the motherboard manufacturers use the exact same technology, and what seperates the good from the bad is their rma department. When you buy a motherboard with the exact same chipset nomatter what brand its more of a "luck of the draw" issue than anything, with some runs that are good and some bad depending on the week of distribution.

I never liked him and his "I am God" point of view. He tried to tell Dave several times that he knew much more than him about the Rampage, please, Dave worked for 3dfx. He also flamed the crap out of me once because I said something good about the Voodoo5. And when i retaliated, he told me that I can't argue with him because of how much more he knows. Yea right. I don't care if he helped some people or not, he was just a pain to the rest of us.

There was no way in heck he could possible know more than Dave about the Rampage. Dave was knee deep in the project :)

I got into it with him once when he said Kingston ram was the same as generic ram. Of course the vast majority of servers can use Kingston ram due to it's stability. He seems to have a strong insecurity that he over compensates for with bravado.

<< Hell I never liked you and your strange little BoyBand Fetish. Are you sure your real name is George Michaels? j/k >>

I never had a problem with any of his statements, I just really hated his presentation. There is no need to slam everyone thats doesn't agree even if you think your right. He came across sounding like a tin god that felt his views were far superior than everybody elses and should be accepted as fact and not be questioned. The fact that he then decides to leave just looks like sour grapes.

Maybe everybody else is used to this behavior from him, but as I said in the thread, I don't know him at all.

Red Dawn - Of course, NFS4's worst day is about the same as when you wake up just grumpy instead of full force. However, when you get insulting, you don't act like a spoiled child and take your ball home with you when others respond in kind. "PC Resources" might have been the most experienced person around, but he started with the insults and blew up when what he was saying wasn't accepted as gospel. There is not one person who posts in any of the boards who I feel is an expert beyond anything that others can bring. The closest is pm, and I was working in a building full of chip metalurgy and diaelectric PhD's and asked them to clarify a few items. pm was always right in the limited area where he applied his expertise, so I do tend to trust him in that area. Since there are many process, materials, and machine changes between different chip makers, even what he says has to be thought of in context.

When I read the thread, I tended to agree with NFS4. If anything, PC Resources was the zealot. I also am willing to accept that Abit has a higher failure rate than other MB makers. The dealers hate it because of the $25 RMA policy. Their boards are still in a fair amount of demand and I have't had a tiny bit of trouble with the three I own and use. It seemed that PC Resources felt that NFS4's experience was a challenge to him and that any mention of MSI problems was also a challenge.

If that minor exchange in the thread was enough to cause him to go away, I think he would suffer physical damage if he entered one of the typical threads in OT. Plus his swipe at another member on the way out was fairly slimy.

I don't think that "our" discussion is what drove him away...after I left the thread, him and that other guy really got into it. I just sat back and watched in amazement :Q

I have no problems with people that know alot about computer hardware...but to use that knowledge to belittle others for your own personal gain/satisfaction/humour isn't right at all.

Oppinination and arragance are just sighns you got balls under your pants! Why the hell are we here if were not oppininated! We need every damb opionion we can get! Why else are we here. Its the nefs we should get rid of the more opinions we have the closer we are to being a real forum.

At least nefs are funny. Usually anyway. And there's a difference between being opinionated and thinking you are god.

Hope not to insult anyone but here goes.....

I'm posting in the forums for a very short time compared to some of you, but from what I could
see there are many here that are like PCresources... With your big egos and such...

I've seen threads I couldn't believe... but than again were only human and most humans still
think they are the best and others don't matter...

All seem to forget that we're all baised one way or the other... yes, he was baised against
Abit, but so what I'm baised against Fujitsu ( Never had a hard-disk from them that worked
for more than 1 year....). Yes he seems arrogant, but so do many others here...

All of us have our bad things and our good things, one can only hope that the good surpass
the bad... But what I don't think is right is personnal insults, still I have seen them around
this forums, and some humans don't like being insulted, so they react the way they instincts
tell them to react ( yes Instints not the brain...), ones better then others....

As for opinnions, all of us have encoutered problems with one brand or the other,
all of us like one brand or the other...

Personally for instance, I love japanese and european cars, but I hate american's.
But then again I like both Amd and Intel, Microsoft and Linux... man I even like
Via...

The experience subject... every one has his/her one... What I find funny is that
some people try to make their own more important than the others, PCresources seems
to do this and he is wrong here, but from what I've seen recently he is not alone...
many of the people here do that. Granted that there are some very "experienced" members
that aren't like that, but most are....

Just to finish. I'm 26, been using computers and messing with them since the age of 10.
Started with PCs at the age of 13, seen my first workstation at the age of 16, got my
hands of my first Alpha at 19....seen AMD and Intel florish and Atari, Commodore, Digital
and others die. Built more PC that I can keep count...installed more versions of OSs
that one can imagine, from every flavours... MS-DOS ( since version 2xx ), Windows, CP/M, Prologue ( The OS from BULL systems ), AmigaOS, Linuxes, Unixes and others. Granted that
I'm not the top expert in any of this subjects, but I know my way around... and as far
I can remember I haven't forced my opinnions on anyone that didn't asked for it.

Hope of you can say the same, many can't... Now I'm being arrogant... sorry for that...

Need me I'll be around

( Edit: Sorry for the long post )

Hi, I just want to say that I've mostly lurk here and am quite impressed with all the technical knowledge that alot of the posters here have. I've learned quite a bit from you all.

I've been reading alot of the threads that PCresources has posted in, and I have to agree with alot that's been said here. I've noticed that whenever someone disagrees with him, out comes the: I've tested thousands of motherboards blah blah blah, I've got so many years of experience blah blah blah, I'm the owner of blah blah blah, etc etc. Then when someone still disagrees with him, out come the insults. Granted, he's got a wealth of experience and has helped alot of people out here, it's just that whenever someone has a different opinion, he goes ballistic.

The guy has quite an ego. I've seen this on other boards, where someone thought that they were so important and all knowledgeable gets upset, they post the I'M LEAVING! thread. Naturally, this results in the PLEASE DON'T GO replies. Way to stroke his ego. If you don't want to post here anymore, then just don't, why the need to let everyone know? That's positive proof of a big ego. I guess being the boss of a company does that to man sometimes. I don't think that he takes suggestions from his employees very often. I wouldn't want to work under a boss with this kind of personality at all. He just has to realize that even though he has alot of knowledge and experience, he's just like the rest of us here, a regular poster. After all, he doesn't own THIS place.

Funny he's getting the opposite feedback in GH. There are many many holes in his stories for anyone interested enough to do some checking on him. I just can't believe with his infantile, tyrannical behaviour...strange combination....that anyone would want him around.
