PCMCIA to SD Adapter

Spooner

Lifer
I just bought a new car that has a PCMCIA slot for some reason.

Is there an adapter that will allow me to use this slot with an SD card or something similar?

What kind of car? What is the purpose of the PCMCIA slot. i.e., what is it connected to? What does the Owner's Manual say it is used for? There are PCMCIA card readers for all sorts of media - SD, CF, SM and even XD.

it's a mercedes c300

it's integrated in with the nav system so my intent would be to load it up with mp3's and play from it

yes, but i don't think that one supports the SDHC versions of memory cards, which i think all ones above 4gb are

i'd like to get a 16gb or 32gb one if i can find a compatible reader

Does the C300's NAV system play MP3 audio? Anyway, such readers exist -

I think your best bet is to go down at talk to some of the younger techs down at the M-B dealership. When you buy a car of that class, you should be able to get some tech advice. 🙂
