Been asked to resolve this dilemma of a client of mine
Old Compaq e500 not having USB 2.0 and only 1 USB 1.1
Client wants Ext HDD
Tried standard PCMCIA card but the HDD is not recognized
although the unit is perfect on other portables.
Tried 2 cards, both fail here on this portable.
Seems a problem of power output.
Can't use double USB input power since only 1 port.
Many cards have an external power supply jack but
no specs inlcuded.
Any ideas ?
