pcmcia in dos?

I have an HP Omnibook 800CT that, until recently, had Windows 98SE on it. Alas, it has crashed, and I need to reinstall. The catch? I don't have a CD-ROM drive. I have access to a PCMCIA CD drive through an Iomega Zip Card (It worked in indows before it crashed). Additionally, I have a PCMCIA Ethernet Card, the D-Link DFE670TX. I'm hoping that One of these will allow me to reinstall. The CD drive almost works, except that it needs socket services, and I haven't been able to find any online. Anyways, any help would be most appreciated. Thanks
