Ok from what I have read the new gtx 480 are best of the best for single gpu. Now what doesnt make any sense to me is that the pci express 2.1 is supposed to be way faster then the 2.0 So wouldnt that make those cards alot better.

Its confusing

It's not. Don't pay attention to the pci-express number as long as the card in question is fairly modern.

Iirc the only difference between 2.0 and 2.1 were some energy saving features, so that won't affect the performance of the cards at all..

Oh damn ok thanks.

New tech idea a component that combines 2 pciexpress into one. You know like a y adapter 2 male ends (stick in the pciexpress slot) 1 female adapter to hook a device into. Then it allows you to have double the information transfer since its split between two,

What do you think good idea bad idea. Being able to run components at over twice there normal power.

That might make sense if it was the pci-e speed that was limiting the graphics card instead of the graphics chip and sometimes the CPU. Unfortunately that isn't true.
