I haven't seen anything, and all these motherboard manufacturers are jumping all over it. I haven't seen a single thing that utilizes them.

I've been trying to find a motherboard all day for my new processor, and everyone I see is loaded up with PCIe 1x slots... but what for?

PCIe 1x slots provide 250MBytes/sec of bandwidth

Gigabit ethernet is 1000Mbits/sec

Divide that by 8, and you see that gigabit ethernet is only 125MBytes/sec. So it wouldn't saturate it.

The PCI bus only has 133MB/sec bandwidth over ALL of the PCI slots.

You are kind of right, gigabit ethernet would saturate the PCI bus, but not on PCIe.

That is was on all of Intel's 8xx chipsets, they introduced the CSA bus to hook the integrated gigabit ethernet directly to the southbridge, and off the PCI bus. Now with the 9xx chipsets, the integrated gigabit ethernet is on the PCIe bus.

Thanks for showing me those 1x cards, those are awesome!!! That's exactly what I was looking for too. I want to get a tuner card in PCIe flavor.
