Is there a definitive answer to how much bandwidth a modern graphics card uses at full load / maximum throughput ? What i mean to say is if a x16 2.0 slot is capable of 8 Gigs per second. How much of that does an GTX480 ( for example ) use under maximum theoretical load, Maximum gaming load and maximum Benching load ? I have seen :-www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_5870_PCI-Express_Scaling/25.html and that half answers it.
Also, if nVidia decided to put 2 GF100's with the full 16 Streaming Multiprocessors at 700Mhz core, 1400Mhz shader and 3700ish Mhz memory, how much of the x16 bus would that chew up ?
Please bestow knowledge upon me so i may gain wisdom, or just answer the question !!
Many thanks to those in the know in advance.
