PciE x1 soundcards

when will we see these? and when will creative release a new line of soundcards (which I'm assuming would also be released in a PciE x1 flavor if not exclusively)

I think creative said something about pci-express not being suitable for soundcards for some reason or other when asked why the new cards weren't pci express.

Maybe creative needs to buy a company which manufactures pci-e cards before it will consider that interface 'suitable' like it did with ensoniq for pci.

Exactly.

They won't bother until somebody beats them to the punch... and then instead of trying to make a competitive card, they'll buy out the company, rebadge their product and tack $100 onto the price.

The creative people at Creative work in the business department, not in R&D.
