PCI or Low profile AGP? "Edited"

getting a low profile video card and I'm looking at them and I see one that says Low profile ready when all the others say just low profile..Can someone tell me what the difference is?

EDIT: Well now it seems I can use PCI cards but not PCI-E ... Would this be beter then AGP low profile? Can anyone reccomend one that would play wow on low res for under $50?

I think it might be a video card that has a low profile as far as the PCB is concerned but the bracket installed is a normal one. Most low profile cards come with a regular bracket and a low profile bracket. You might have to order a low profile bracket (nickel and diming) to install it in a system that only can take a low profile PCI card. You'd have to check that particular card.

newegg.com has pictures of most cards to show you whether a low profile bracket is already installed, not installed but included in the package, or not included and must be ordered separately.

Swapping brackets just requires a screwdriver if you have a low-profile bracket with the right cutouts for the VGA / DVI ports.

If you have the right tools (pliers & tin snips?) it might also be possible to mod a full-height bracket to low-profile (for cards where the card itself is low profile of course)

I dont have alot of options when it comes to low profile AGP cards. From what I've read this card runs Wow and the expansions fine. I have my video settings all the way down..So I'm hoping it wont be a problem.

It will physically work yes, but you will have to have everything on the very minimum settings, and use an extremely low resolution. I would be surprised if that could even run 800x600 without horrible stuttering

Any chance of finding a standard ATX case you can transplant the mobo and drives into? Then you would be able to find a used regular profile AGP card that would offer much better performance.
