PCI express x16 backwards compatible with AGP 8x?

Definitely not. The slots are physically different, and electrically incompatible.

they have mobos with PCI-e and AGP 8x, but I don't think you can SLi and AGP card and a PCI card or PCI-e.

some of the mobos are not promising in performance, but a few companies did it right...

sorry, I'm not gonna dig up the links. God gave us an ability to search, search out, children.

Ignoring the rather nasty people above, the answer to your question is No, PCI-E x16 is not backwards compatible with AGP x8.

Andy Hui said it perfectly.

im sure you could get it to fit in there somehow. just place the card over the slot, and with a happer tap the top of the card until it goes in. cracking sounds are perfectly normal.
